Choosing what to wear for your photo session shouldn’t feel like a full-time job.
(You’ve got enough on your plate \u2014 and if you’re like me, coffee is definitely<\/em> already doing the heavy lifting.)
That’s why I’m here to make it simple, fun, and totally you.<\/em><\/h3>\n

The truth is, your outfit sets the tone for your photos. It can highlight your personality, complement the location, and bring the whole story together beautifully. Here are some of my favorite tips to help you feel confident, comfortable, and ready to shine:<\/h3>\n

When I’m chatting with someone about photos, I hear the same two things every single time:<\/em><\/p>\n

    “I don’t photograph well.”<\/em>
    Correction: You haven’t been photographed well.<\/strong>
    Trust me \u2014 we can fix that. You’re going to see yourself in a whole new light.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    “What should I wear?”<\/em>
    (That\u2019s why we\u2019re here \u2014 and spoiler alert: it\u2019s easier than you think!)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    One of the biggest pieces of advice I give when it comes to choosing outfits for your photo session? Dress like you.<\/em> Not the Pinterest version of you. Not someone else\u2019s idea of what looks good in photos. YOU.<\/p>\n

    Unless you\u2019re intentionally going for a different vibe or theme (and I\u2019m all for that when it fits!), the best choice is a polished version of what you\u2019d normally wear. When you feel comfortable and confident in your clothes, it shows\u2014your body language is more natural, your smile is more real, and the whole experience just feels better.<\/p>\n

    So think elevated everyday. A little more styled, maybe a little more thought-out than your daily wear, but still totally, authentically you.<\/p>\n

      Stick to muted or neutral tones:<\/strong> Soft earth tones, pastels, or rich neutrals like navy, olive, or cream look beautiful on camera and won’t distract from your smile.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Think textures, not prints:<\/strong> Chunky knits, linen, lace, denim… they all add depth without stealing the show.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Avoid logos and neon colors:<\/strong> They can be distracting and date your photos.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Comfort is key:<\/strong> Choose outfits that you can move, laugh, and play in comfortably\u2014you\u2019ll see<\/em> the difference in your portraits!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Family Portraits:<\/strong>
      Coordinate without being matchy-matchy! Pick a few complementary colors and mix in different shades and textures for a pulled-together look. (Bonus points for cozy cardigans, flowing dresses, or boots for outdoor sessions.)<\/p>\n

      Senior Portraits:<\/strong>
      Plan 2-3 outfits:<\/p>\n

        Flowy dresses, cozy knits, and anything that highlights your beautiful growing bump are always<\/em> a win. Soft colors and long, dreamy fabrics work magic at sunset sessions.<\/p>\n

        Headshots:<\/strong>
        Simple, clean, and polished. Solid colors that compliment your brand personality are perfect. (P.S. Layering a jacket or scarf can give you some extra looks!)<\/p>\n
